What do you guys think?

your class rank is very impressive 1/600+
i mean, you have a shot, but Ivies are always dicey, even to the best candidates
sorry i dont know anything about the non ivies, but UC schools are looking pretty good for you (i am assuming you are from cali)

well chance me back.
Ivy League 2014/others?

Your position/GPA is impressive.

Submit your ACT wherever you can, but take the SAT again in case you need it. A private Kaplan tutor, while expensive, is totally worth it. I jumped 80 points math, 60 points critical reading, and 20 points writing working with one. They focus on areas you need help in and custom tailor the curriculum to teach you where you need it most.

Does your school offer many APs? They might want to see more, but if there are no more to take, then don’t sweat it, as long as your school explains. The Community College courses show you take on challenges on your own, which further makes up for fewer APs.

UCD sounds pretty safe for you, from what I have heard.

I got into UC Berkeley out-of-state last year and my GPA wasn’t as good as yours and my ACT wasn’t nearly as good, but my SAT was a bit better than yours. I had more APs, but my school offered more.

Love the Model UN. It is the activity that the most Ivy-league accepted students had in common. Seriously. I’m a serious Model UN geek myself

The volunteering and leadership are nice touches. Explain why you do it and what you take out of doing good. Your essay sounds like it does this. Show it around and get feedback. Such a topic needs to be seen by more than just close family/friends.

Are you applying to the Walsh School at Georgetown (SFS)? You sound pretty good for Georgetown, either College or SFS.

I don’t know much about Northwestern, but I’ve heard it compared to Georgetown in philosophy and selectivity.

St. Andrews?! Cool! No idea on your chances, but still, that would be sweet.

Having XY Chromosomes, I had no reason to look at Wellesley and thus know nothing about it except for Hillary Clinton going there. Sorry I don’t know any more on it.

UCSD is supposed to be just as good as Berkeley but a bit easier to get into. You sound like a match there.

Finally, Princeton. Ivies can be strange. Nobody has a “good chance,” and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Yet such a stellar ranking and ACT scores and good EC’s do help you out. I know a guy who got in there in the 70s who had a similar ACT score. Don’t know if that helps.

I hope you make it in everywhere. You will have good options ahead of you.

Best of luck. I hope this helps. Could you chance me back? Mine’s called Crossing My Fingers. I’d appreciate it. Thanks. Peace.

St. Andrews = easysauce. Kids with 2000 or in the 1900s on the SATS get in. (Let alone your 36 ACT) All that those Scotts want is your $$$

SAT II scores could be much better. But ACT + GPA/Rank is amazing.
