How bad is it having the last registration window freshman year first semester? I know they rotate, but being among the very last people to register for classes scares me in a sense. Will there still be good intro classes to register for (math 31l (not sure on new number), language 101/102, econ 51, etc) or am I kind of screwed?

I'm guessing I should wait until the spring for writing 101? Do seminar classes fill up easily too?

There will always be spots open as they have to have capacity to accommodate all anticipated students. It may just be that there may not be spots in the classes that you want. Large lecture classes should not be a problem. It may just be that you need to choose that 8:30AM recitation/lab. I wouldn’t worry about Math 31 or econ or even language 101. Duke knows that if you want to stick to the standard timeline you’ll need those courses and most likely if you are willing to go for the unpopular times or sections you can make it work. Seminar classes however are harder. The popular ones fill up fast and you’ll just need to either take one that is available or wait until next semester.
