hey everyone! i need to choose between retaking the sat 1 or retaking the sat math 2c (i only have one test date left.)

i really like my sat 1 english scores(800 cr and 760 writing). yet my math score is a 700, and i am planning to go into the science field. my math 2c is a 750.

so,for my last test date, which is better, retaking for the sat math (and superscoring) or retaking sat 2c? will a high 2c score compensate for a 700 math?

It depends on where you are applying. You would need an 800 on your SAT II retake for it to be worthwhile, and since math II is probably the easiest to ace I would retake that (assuming you know you can get the 8) before retaking the SAT 1. However, a 750 in math isn't going to hurt you; so why not take a science subject test instead? Ive made the assumption that you're not applying to top ivy league schools, where a 700 in SAT math is not competitive.

JJ, yea im not applying to ivy's, im focusing on the uc system (berkeley, ucla, ucsd, uc irvine). in this case, do you think my cr/ writing will make up for my math score?

p.s. i dont even know why i do so bad on sat math. i got A's in honors math and ap calc bc, with a 5, but for some reason the most i can get for sat 1 math is a 700. and for my sat 2 math, i didnt take it afterprecalc, i put it off for 1 1/2-2 years b/c i got caught up w/ the sat 1 sigh.
