Hey,

Also, I made a 20 minute film documentary about “the benefits of an all-girls education.” I edited, shot and directed the entire thing this last semester for course credit ( but I also designed the class). It turned out really well but still needs some tweaking (which I’m doing in the fall). I’m considering sending a copy with my app. Would this be a good idea or a bad idea?

Also, I kind of have an unusual living situation. My mom owns two businesses and we live with her most of the time in CT. But my dad works in Chicago/ Baltimore/ Switzerland and flies back and forth every weekend. I only see him from Friday afternoon -sunday night, if I don't have a softball tournament. Not divorced though. Is this considered an odd situation or am I just clueless?

And Now For the Schools (ranked by my GC):

Reach:
Northwestern
USC
Wash U

Match:
GWU
Syracuse
UMICH
Fordham
Emerson

Safety:
American
BU
UWISC- Madison
Ithaca

Thanks for your opinions everyone!

It seems like you are really interested in art and softball, which is good, but maybe you join some more clubs this year? (to show diversie interests)

Also, if you have done a lot with film-making in high school, you might want to apply to film schools. Even though they are REALLY competative, it's worth a shot.

Art and Softball and Film. I am applying to mostly film programs. As much as I would like to join some more clubs, I am a senior... so yeah. But I really want to do some more service stuff. I used to volunteer at a riding center but I can't do that anymore b/c I board.

I see your list as almost correct but I would slide UMich up to an average reach since your GPA is below the average acceptance GPA (unless you're in-state). Your ACT is good and luckily Mich doesn't look at SAT IIs. Good luck and as you know Michigans Girl's Softball team won the the World Series of Softball this year so Go Blue!

to give you an idea about competitiveness of our school... we had our 10-year review this year (so we can be accredited as a new england prep school). The only things we lost points are was that important files weren't in fireproof cabinets and.....
that the students are worked way too hard. see they admitted to it.

I'm not sure if you'd call USC a reach in the same right as northwestern and wash u.

bump bumpty bump bump.
