I am kind of freaking out. My employer just submitted my recommendation today even though the deadline was five days ago. It says submitted on the commonapp but not downloaded. Will the colleges download the recommendation past the deadline?
It depends on the college. Some do download the letter after the deadline because they are more lenient on the recommenders. The same thing happened to me. My music director submitted her letter two weeks after the early action deadline for Harvard, and they still downloaded it. For you, I would just wait.
