california1600, you need to go to thy nunnery....

because we're suckers for the free price tag....
edit: someone's been reading too much hamlet.

hope this helps
i myself am a minority here at princeton and i can attest to the fact that everything california1600 said is completely wrong. I have no idea how anyone could even believe a college with such prestige could exist if it actively "oppresses" its minority populations. Why would there be any asians here at all? Harvard, Yale, Stanford and MIT would for the most part be more than happy to accept these "oppressed" Princeton transfers.

California1600, you have some major problems that you should really work out. Judging by your sn and your posts, you are probably some arrogant piece of crap that thinks your 1600 makes you better. Did you get rejected by Harvard or Princeton and therefore feel some need to reconcile your superiority by bashing these schools? Or are you just retarded? Either way, whether you have attitude problems or are just blatently ignorant, you don't have much of a future.

Free Speech! We hate Bush!

BTW, as all SF, Silicon Valley and LA hiring managers, UC Grad school admissions officers can see, Princeton borders on racist mindsets that restricts free speech. If you need some east coast representation its better to go for Harvard, Yale, UPenn, and Cornell graduates. The racism there is less pronounced and would subsequently translate to an easier adoption to the California lifestyle, resulting in greater workplace efficiencies instead of a long laden retraining process.

yea, cause we all know how we princeton graduates have no futures...idiot.

Like you said, most people are strictly involved in caring about how much money they make. This is not the case for all Asians, Whites, Blacks, Mexicans however.

Some truly want to grow as an individual and learn to think differently, and use college as a truly mind opening experience. Princeton can make you successful, but other schools will make you just as successful, but perhaps can give you more opportunities in personal growth. These opportunities for community activism don't exist at Princeton for Asians, Blacks, Mexicans, and even Pink Floyd loving Whites. Thats all Im really trying to say. Peace have a good day. =)

I'm just glad you aren't at Princeton.

Exactly. Cus I would be an activist against John Kerry. And I would be vocal, and want to do good for my community. I would rather go to UCLA than Princeton, so would many others.

California1600, you have never been a student at princeton so you have no right to label it a racist school. Furthermore, your brashness and arrogance will lead you nowhere in life. look at you, you are a loser who spends time writing messages in a university's board that isnt even yours. Please, TO THY NUNNERY!

I presented a simple question really, one that on any other college board would have been approached very differently. I look for answers from minorities at Princeton. Are Hispanics allowed to wear "LA RAZA" t-shirts proudly on campus?? Its a simple question really, that many of you have trouble understanding the relevance of it. So in effect, you have all answered my question and the question of the entire CC community. Thank you.

=)

Haha, what are you talking about? Your convictions based on ignorance disturb me.

just because la raza doesnt exist at princeton doesnt mean the school is racist. There are many chapters at princeton for numerous latino/a activities and endeavors. california1600, the concept that you just cant fathom is the fact that you have no right to talk about a school if you havent even been there. you have no proof or evidence. I just met with my interviewer and he said everyone will find his or her own niche at the university. he is mexican and graduated in 1999. he said he was welcomed warmly at every single social event. now please stop bothering us.

california 1600, tu eres un pinche cabron que tiene la cabeza del tamano de una luneta. tu le chupas el culo a tu maestro y te gusta hacer majaderas con abuelas.

Jeez. How many times do I have to say it. I scored ABOVE 1600 because I took the 1994 version where 1490 was the equivalent of 1600 today. I scored above 1490 back then, so I am ABOVE 1600 today. Don't lump me in with all those other average 1600 testakers. Sheesh.

La Raza doesn't exist at Princeton>>>>>>>>> So La Raza doesn't exist at Princeton? It exists at UCLA, Stanford, and Berkeley though. How peculiar.

Jeez. Start busting out all your spanish now. Its not like you can speak it loudly at Princeton without getting weird looks though. Thats right, all you can do is type it.

California1600, since when can you reason deductively without citing specific examples???
Princeton is a school that looks down upon any non White minority, and treats them less than sub humanly. Such treatment takes its toll on your upper ceiling of potential.
ok, there's your premise. i see nonsubstantial examples supporting this claim. i'm not saying you're wrong, but you are creating a poor argument.

inductive reasoning is a much higher form of thinking than deductive thinking. So saidth George Soros.

Laters.

so then why don't you reason inductively then? you aren't reasoning at all. just like the great PSedrishMD once said, part of a great education is learning to separate the bs from the truth. unsubstantiated generalizations are not going to change anyone's mind about anything

Im not here to change anyones mind. Im here to let the high schoolers know who prioritize ethnic community activism that Princeton lacks in this and serve those needs rather poorly.

Why would I care what Princeton does? I just want others making choices to be informed.

ok, feel free to contradict yourself some more. you can't CONVINCE anyone of ANYTHING with unsubstantiated generalizations.

Hey, pimpdaddy, I'd like to talk to you sometime about what Princeton life has been like for you, if you don't mind. Well, depending on what happens next week, I'd want to talk to you, heh.
