Law school means lawyer?

Does attending law school mean that your only available option for a career is lawyer/attorney? I understand that the job market for lawyers is not in the best state; therefore, I would like to know what other careers are available. A description of the career's work day, salary, & hours would be appreciated. Thank you.

Some people will tell you a JD will open up many career opportunities and you will somehow have a great job.

If you don’t want to be a lawyer, don’t go to law school. Simple as that. You go to law school so you can learn law, pass the bar exam, and practice as an attorney.

I don’t totally agree with Nonaznguy. There are some extenuating circumstances. For example, if you want to practice tax law with an accounting firm and want to get tax training, going to law school isn’t a bad approach. After all tax law is…law.

Moreover, if you want to be a financial planner, going to law school can be very beneficial.

Absent other circumstances, I would agree that you shouldn’t go to law school. I definintely wouldn’t attend any law school that isnn’t top 20 ranked today unless I had a great scholarship that wasn’t hard to keep or had very rich parents paying all the tuition.
