Law School - The US

I am an undergrad taking a B.Comm at the University of Toronto.

For applying for law school in the US, is it true that they only look at your 3rd and 4th year marks?

I'll have a Commerce & Finance Specialist, Major in Economics and perhaps a Minor in Spanish with an approximate GPA of 3.8 in my 3rd and 4th year.

LSAT will certainly be important, but I can't predict what I'll get on that, but hopefully high.

What are my chances of getting into a top law school coming from U of T, and what are important for getting into a law school out of undergrad -- what marks they want, what extra curriculars are good etc..)...does a B.Comm look good going into Law?

Thanks

It's not true that they just look at your 3rd and 4th year grades--it's your overall GPA that matters most (with that said, it's better to have an upward trend than a downward one).

Without knowing your overall GPA and your actual LSAT score, it's impossible to make predictions. The LSAC website has a data search that can show you what GPA and LSAT combination gives you a good shot at admission to each school.

Your majors and your school are most likely neutral--probably won't hurt you or help you much.

Okay thank you, can anyone else confirm this?

-Thanks

Confirm .
