how is their law program? i read about their law SCHOOL and know it's great but is there anyone out there going to UConn for law or who knows someone going for law? how is it?

What specifically would you like to know?

does the college help to prepare you well for a career in law?
i know the law school is very good. something like 90%+ bar passage…
i dont know exactly what im asking. college freaks me out lol

If by “prepare you well for a career in law” you mean does it teach you about the profession, then no, it does not. There are not classes on what life as a lawyer is like. But there are lectures by lawyers, and law school fairs, and all different clubs available at the school.

If you are really interested in law, especially trial law, keep in mind that your question is even more important than the answer, so try and ask what you really want to ask :)

haha very clever Philosopher.
but there in lies the problem…
i dont know how to ask it.
here’s my question based off my relative paranoia surrounding my present choice to apply to UConn…
as i am considering a future career in law, will attending UConn help to educate me on the field that i may be ready to be competitive in a career as an attorney??

THERE haha i tried

Good try, at least :)

Many will tell you that law school has little to do with preparing you for a career in law, and more so teaches you to “think like a lawyer.” (Much as philosophy classes may)

That being said, there are plenty of undergraduate classes which have the subject of law intertwined in them. Some are obvious, like political science, business and public policy, and others are not so obvious, like sociology, psychology, and women’s studies. There are a LOT of courses to choose from. I would recommend that you look here: [University of Connecticut](http://www.catalog.uconn.edu/doc.htm) for something of interest. But again, there is a lot that happens outside of the classroom that is educational, such as what I described above.

Hopefully this helps, but I’d be happy to answer more, as long as you ask :)

thanks! im taking psych and socio as well as government classes in school and plan to at UConn (if i get in) im so nervous about this college stuff haha

Don’t worry about grad school until at least your junior year of college. Take an assortment of classes, and do well in all of them. You may have a change in interest!
