With so many international kids posting and looking for aid, I thought this might come in handy. This is a new policy, just posted on their website a couple of days ago:

"As a part of its continued efforts to attract exceptional students from around the globe, The Lawrenceville School has expanded financial aid opportunities for international students.

These efforts are being funded, in part, by recent gifts from both alumni and parents, including Beau and Yumiko Kuok (parents of a 2007 Lawrenceville graduate), Granger Hwa (a 1981 Lawrenceville graduate), and Ryan Fong (a 1991 Lawrenceville graduate), who have each created named scholarships to assist international students. Additionally, Bob Johnston (a 1954 Lawrenceville graduate) and his wife, Lynn, have also created an international scholarship at the School for a female student from a developing nation. (The Johnstons are also parents of Lawrenceville graduates from the classes of 1992 and 1994.) To date, nearly two million dollars have been raised to provide financial support to international students.

Lawrenceville has also been selected as a pilot site to offer Davis International Scholarships to incoming sophomores, juniors, and seniors selected from places around the world not currently well served by American boarding schools. The School will welcome its first five Davis International Scholars in the fall of 2008.

"For nearly two centuries, our school has been distinguished by the quality and diversity of its students," said Head Master Liz Duffy. "Support from alumni and parents enables us to attract students from around the globe, whose varied perspectives broaden classroom discussions, enrich friendships, and enhance the overall educational experience for all of our students."

The Lawrenceville School recently launched a $200 million fundraising campaign in celebration of its 2010 bicentennial anniversary. The two major pillars of the Campaign are student financial aid and faculty support. Funds raised will also focus on increasing international educational opportunities; enhancing the School's environmental stewardship and science programs; and maintaining and upgrading Lawrenceville's world-class facilities. Significant monies will be earmarked for the School's endowment, which provides both long-term funding of campaign priorities and a base of ongoing support for campus operations.
