Lawyer Quality of Life

Being a lawyer isn’t THAT bad; at least it often pays well!

I believe the alcohol part . . . not speaking from experience, of course.

Hmmm…in light of the bi-modal distribution of salaries and the many unemployed new grads, at best being a lawyer occasionally pays well.

I once had to hire a lawyer. And he was very good, but he had an air of alcoholic about him. I mentioned this to my sister who is a federal lawyer and she told me that Alcoholism is common if the law profession- they drink a lot. Part of the problem is the stress, you have someone’s future in your hands. She works very hard during the week, but she goes on great vacations too. Plus she will not have to worry about money. She was able to pay off her loans in less than a year and her only debt is her mortgage. She can retire early if she wants too. And her pay isn’t top tier…

So there is good and bad.
