LC vs. RH

Do you happen to know if the university provides a matching service for housing?

I am not aware of a specific matching service. They do their best to find people, on paper, who might be a good fit. At LC that is problematic because its small and only one dorm. On the other hand, there are apartments for all.

If you have someone in mind, you could request you room with them and likely ResLife will oblige.

Freshman dorm drama is normal at Fordham and everywhere. Lots of adjustment going on, first time away from home and lots of emotions, egos, personalities and lifestyles.

My kid had a roomie at RH that was a problem. They eventually reconciled in upperclassmen years but didnt live in same dorm again. She did make wonderful friends and hung with them and lived with them for Junior and Senior year and they are very close today…all graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Find people who are like you in study habits, personal habits and interests and everything will be fine.

Wow, two different people, but both parents having students having problems with roommates. Hopefully I won’t have that problem if I choose to go to LC. What do you mean by “On the other hand, there are apartments for all.”?

Wherever you go, you might get stuck with a bad roommate. Or things could be great.

Here’s what my daughter said about religious cliques:

People are pretty integrated. Sure, the kids who are part of Campus Ministry hang out together just because they see each other there, but religion really isn’t a factor that way.
