Is lead as prestigious as other summer programs like tasp and rsi? how difficult is it to get in and if anyone has any info or advice on getting into lead or tasp, simply post. thanx.

it is great
my friend was a lead participant
and all of her friends are at top schools i.e Penn, Duke, UNC

it is up there in terms of prestige
your choosing from 12 of the top business schools in the nation including the number one in Wharton and host schools such as Stanford, Duke, Illinois, Georgetown, Minnesota, etc...

Prestigious.... yes.....

After all it is associated with all of the big Business schools.

Note in the end of the day judging a program on its prestige will only get you so far. This program obviously isn't one of the 20grand take summer school at Harvard things that want you for your money. This is really unique and if you like business and go for it.

Info or Advice. IS on par with the male organ enlargement industry. ITs all fake and speculation. No one really knows how to get that upper edge (not even past participants.)
Although I can give one piece of advice=BE YOURSELF....

However my understanding is that LEAD pretty much only judges you on your scores/grades/academics. So the whole be yourself thing is sort of a shot :-/

Good Luck!!!

my friend Kristin was (and still is) more a leader than an academic freak
I guess it varies

but with all programs and colleges and jobs and life period
somethings are right for you and somethings are not
sometimes things that you want work out
sometimes things that you want don't work out

but... there is always something that is right for you
it is life's quest to find this "something" and to realize you have found it
thus, you enjoy it, you never take it for granted, and you share it with as many as people as possible
example: Alicia Keys' musical performances or my great aunt's cooking

i don't really know too much about this program, but from i see hear, it seems like a pretty prestigious one...just keep an eye out those shaddy programs or programs that uses like good college names to attract students...those that like anyone with decent grades can get in by paying alotta money...hope that helps

Anyone who has been accepted- Do you remember when you were notified of your acceptance?

i'm really interested in applying to lead but i don't want to waste time writing more apps after tasp if i'm not gonna be accepted.

do you think owning 2 businesses will go a long way towards acceptance?

looks like somthing that'll be a lot harder to get into if you aren't a URM too...

what kind of businesses do u own and why two?

they're kind of interrelated
one offering web/logo/graphic/ad design etc

and then a pretty standard web hosting, domain name registration, etc etc etc internet services business

also, i really wanna go to sbi but i feel like i'd be "wasting" a really good rec if i did...

whats sbi?

Hm...I don't want to push my luck with asking for recs, either. I need all three of my favorite teachers next year and I already asked one of them to do TASP.

Although this program DOES look fun...

the apps do ask you to emphasize your business EC's when listing them

sizhao - the actually name of the program is sbi (summer business institute)
lead is just the organization that...organizes....it

okay i know the app is due in like 2 days, so im writing my essays right now. are they picky with word count? like for the business problem with solution, i have 580 words instead of 500, are they strict with that?

does anyone here know how to delete an attachment on the lead app?? I need to delete it and reload another copy of my essay, except I do not know how to. Please help

the application deadline has been extended to the 28th
definitely applying now

ActuarialDJ, how did you know that the deadline has been extended? I looked on the website and it still says Feb 15th is the deadline.

and this thread is dead...
wake up!

When are decisions sent out?

I don't know why I bother.

late March
and then you have to April 6th to reply I believe
