Anyone get into Cal Poly who specifically said on their app that they had a learning disability? Anyone think they were turned down because of their learning disability?
thanks

There is no place on the application to put this. You would need to appeal based on this as new information that they did not know on your original application. However you need to do the appeal within their time frames and if you applied this year it is probably too late to appeal, but you could try it anyway. If your appeal is successful you will be put on the waiting list.

Got a reply from the college. They basically do not care if you have a learning disability. That is to say they do not consider what you may have had to overcome in order to get the grades you did. So if it took you a great deal of time to get decent grades but they do not meet the rest of the students scored they do not care. Is is not as if there is a law that public institutions must accomidate disabilities.
The strictly go on GPA and test scores. They also don’t care if you have done a lot of extracurricular activities or volunteer work according to there reply.
So if anyone thinks they may have been rejected and not accomidated by Cal Poly contact me and we can take it from there.
