I was just informed by my son that because of one midshipman's behavior during lunch today, leave is cancelled for everyone for the whole weekend. Does anyone know the details?

I heard it was more of a whole regiment...not just one.

It's that time of the year...they need to blow off some steam ;)

twas definitely NOT just one mid... it was all of us.
basically, when you slam the regiment so chock full of regimented junk that they can't hardly sit down for more than 2 minutes, this is what happens.
it was totally worth it though.
morale around the regiment has improved dramatically and many people felt as though this was the best day at school in some time.

Kinda sucks for us who wanted to see our kid this weekend. Been looking forward to it for a while. Can't imagine morale is gonna be great this weekend.

What happened? If you can share? Thanks

YouTube - kings point mass attack

It was worth it.

Chillguy, Thanks!

not sure I understand the whole thing....but agree with is2day...........that must have been a relief...and fun

Leave is cancelled for that! Can't believe you think that was worth it! Can't believe the parents agree with that.

nah! don't agree... if they went that far, they should have had a food fight!

But... if the midshipmen feel better... "good for them!" :)

Dumb and Dumber...guess the missed their STCW competency in crowd control!!

A good old fashioned BOLT. It is worth it. Good to see some traditions are still going on.

<righteous indignation="">
"My heavens ! These young men and women should comport themselves with more decorum, wouldn't you say, Mr Darcy?"
</righteous>

Zonker: hahahahahahahah :D :D :D whooo. haaa.
Sometimes ya gotta do what's ya gotta do.

Is there a price? Most certainly.
Was it worth it? Appears so.
What was this 'Kodak' moment worth? Priceless.. thanks for sharing/posting.

Our kids may be mashed pretty good, but their spirit isn't broken. Good for them.

kathynp,
we knew before the start of the whole thing that they were going to take liberty away from us. so, in reality, it wasn't a big deal (to most) when Master Sergeant started screaming and kicked us out. in fact, i know that most kids were kinda shocked it took as long as it did. i actually think it was a goal to get kicked out. those days always raise spirits a bit. i can't explain how or why, but they do. you'd never expect to see so many smiling faces here after lunch... especially when we were still fairly hungry and it was a good lunch day!
it's not something we do often. in fact, it's quite rare. but the seniors decided it had to be done, so in true KP fashion, we joined them in their stupidity.
please try to see the humor in it! :)

Now see, I thought everyone got kicked out of Delano for refusing to eat until the mystery meat of the day was definitively identified by DNA testing!

tis okay, they have KPMOM's cookies today to smooth things over and fill their tummies :)

And my child was concerned that there wouldn't be any fun at KP!!!

Any chance this mom could get the recipe? They sound delicious and durable. PM so it won't turn into a coffee klatch? (smile) Thanks so much!

she's got about 5 different kinds of cookies every week... i'm sure she'll share the recipe book with you : )

the true disappointment about getting kicked out of lunch yesterday was the fact that it was one of the GOOD lunch days. go figure, right?

the long weekend has been reinstated, for those concerned!
