leave of absence - opinions?

i am currently a junior at the university of pennsylvania and have recently fallen onto some hard times - financially, personally, mentally - and i feel like i just need a break from school to reorganize myself while living at home and getting a full time job to save money.

my ultimate goal is vet school and i've done very well in school so far, but this semester especially a combination of stress from school and stress from personal issues have just really hit me really hard and i'm not sure if i can continue for another year...i could really use a break to regroup myself and then go back and finish my last year. just tkae some time to grow and develop as a person.

anyone out there who has taken a LOA before or has advice/opinions?

i'm just trying to get through the end of this semester...but i really could use a breather for a year, i've just been so school crazy and academically driven for the past 3 years.

I’ve taken one a couple years ago.
Sometimes, you just need a break. I don’t really have any advice since it’s fairly straight-forward but it could benefit to, while on your leave, use the time to do something still productive–but low on the stress scale (obviously, as it goes against the reason for taking the leave to begin with) like an internship that’s not too demanding or take the time to work on a light personal project.
