Lectures, Discussions, and Labs

I am a bit confused about the different sections that are part of a course. For example, I decide to enroll in Math 1A. There are three different lectures and many different discussions to pick from. Will I be able to pick ANY discussion section regardless of which lecture I pick, or must I pick a discussion that's under that particular lecture?

Also, as another example, suppose I decide to enroll in Computer Science 61A, which has both discussions and labs that appear to come in "sets". Will I be able to choose any discussion/lab combination or must I select a set?

For a class with multiple lectures, you most likely will have to choose a discussion that falls under the lecture. For example, if sign up for LEC 001, then sign up for a discussion that starts with a 1, i.e. 1XX. For CS61A, it might be that you have to sign up for the same set, but probably not. I've had a course before where you had to sign up for the same set, but others where it was arbitrary. I don't recall what it was for 61A, though. I'm betting it doesn't matter, though. Most likely Telebears will prevent you from doing anything that they don't want, anyway.
