quick question - Labs and Discussion

quick question
do i need to have both my lab and dis for a specific course the same number? like both 206? or can one be 206 and the other 208 -- just because the timing suits me better?

thanks yall

Which number are you looking at?

lets say that i want dis 206 and lab 208 for physics
is that allowed?

i know for bio 1b they are linked
Lab 134 and Dis 134 are connected to each other

yea but do you have to take both of the same number or can you take lab 134 but dis 136 if the timings better suit you?

no you can't

same #s required

crapppppppppppppppppp

It actually depends on the class.

For Chem 1A, the labs are independent of the lectures. Pick 001, 002, or 003 based on schedule preferences, then choose among 100 to 800 for lab as fits your needs.

For Math 16a, if you pick section 001 for lecture, then your discussion must be from the group numbered 1xx (101 to 112), but if you are in section 002 the relevant discussions are 2xx.

English 45B also has discussions keyed to specific lecture sections, with numbers beginning 2xx for those that align with lecture 002.

Mostly it is the latter approach - look to see if the discussions are numbered with an initial digit that keys to the lecture. You will also notice that the schedule.berkeley.edu listings group the discussions with each lecture if they are keyed to each other.

Usually the notes will indicate restrictions, as for example here is part of the notes for Physics 8A from the schedule.berkeley.edu listing:

Enter desired lecture followed by discussion then laboratory sections with the same numbers (i.e., if you enrolled in Dis 101 then you must enroll in Lab 101).

Physics 7A has the same basic restriction in its notes field.

man u the best
thanks homes
