I just had Psycology today and my instuctor said that only 10% the population is left- handed. looking around my classroom this number seems a bit off ,I figure about 17-20%.

my question to you is, are you Left-handed or Right-handed?

Of course, this is kind of dumb because this is such a small selection of people, that it is going to end up being extremely biased towards one end

Go Lefties! Have either of you (or any other left handers) read "The Left Hander's Handbook"? It's a funny cartoon-style book about being left-handed.

I think the national statistic is 15%.
In AP Lang and Comp, we had to write an argument essay...since I'm a goofball, I picked "Left-handed people have been discriminated against throughtout history and this needs to change - NOW!"

Out of curiosity, to all the left-handed people out there, did your parents/teachers/relatives try to convert you to become right-handed?

For me, only my grandmother on my mom's side attempted (she believed that left-handedness was bad or something shrug). My grandmother on my father's side on the other hand believe that left-handedness indicated intelligence, and encouraged it.

My grandmother (mother's side) tried to convince my parents to convert me. Thought being a lefty would disadvantage me in life.

My little sister's a lefty too. She had those writing issues back when she was in kindergarten - she used to write everything backwards (if you had a mirror, she had great handwriting).

I'm right handed, but I was born lefty. My parents converted me when I was little because apparently it's really hard to write Chinese with your left hand. Not that that matters a whole lot now.

Hmm, maybe it would be easier for me to pick up ambidexterity? Maybe I'll try sometime if I...get really bored.
