When i was doing the application i figured since i haven’t done anything directly related to my community college or my major that it isn’t worth mentioning. Now im finding out thats not the case and people try to include as many things as possible. There were a lot of good things i could have said, but oh well, it’s too late.
I applied UCD, UCI, UCSD, and UCSB
I’m just wondering how screwed am I? Is this equally as bad as leaving the personal statements blank or is it a little less bad?
I can’t stop thinking about it, i’d hate for this to be the reason that keeps me at community college for another year
@cmonBruh Send a pdf or word doc to docs@applyucsupport.net along with your full name and student ID and tell them you left it blank because you thought the ECs had to be directly related to your major. They will add it to your application. It will take a few days for them to respond.
Yes this is definitely a big issue and can be one of the factors for the denial of your application. You are correct in that most applicants tend to include as much ECs as they can, even if they are not related to their majors. I, for instance, included several high school activities in my transfer app.
The good news is that the Transfer Academic Update isnt due until Jan 31, which means that the universities most likely will not review the transfer applications until after Jan 31. Follow Ohm888’s advice and email the UC Application Support with a list of your ECs and they will hopefully add it to your application before they are reviewed by the universities.
For past UC transfers on this forum, did you put in high school EC? And would they accept it? Because Im working during my days at community college and no time for EC, but might be doing an internship over the summer
Just them. They will update it in the application so each UC will see it. You’ll get a verification email in a few days. You would contact each UC if you had changes after TAU closes. meaning Feb or March.
The reason I know this is a friend just did exactly this. Sent a file with all the ECs a few days ago. She got an email that it went up into the application.
