Application Question..

In the EC/Awards/etc. section of the application I noticed it asks to list all activities after 9th grade.

Since I am applying as a junior transfer, should I even bother listing my High School ECs (2 years JV Tennis, a few clubs), or should I just leave it blank --are High School activities better than blank spots. Also, would listing the High School activities detract from the weight of my College ECs (which are substantially better)?

For me, I jsut input my high school activities if i don't have anything else to put, it's better to put more than less for EC.

is the online application already up? i thought it was until nov 1st

I wouldnt list too many, but if you have a few major ones you did then thats probably ok.

Only use high school EC's as filler.

Hm, well I have 2 strong EC during college(A lot of time invested into both - one pretaining to major), and the rest are during High School. I'm kind of leaning toward the using high school ECs as filler. But, have a feeling that High School ECs wont matter at all. Does anyone have any information regarding the consideration of pregraduation ECs in the transfer process?

From what I've seen of UCSD's point system, assuming that the other UC's function in a similar way even if they don't use the exact same algorithm, using EC's as filler is not going to help you. A lot of EC's aren't given any weight. For example, a junior varsity sport isn't even considered an EC.

myothersn.....they always post the application a month in advance to give you a chance to work on it before transmitting it on Nov 1st. Last year I used the entire month to complete the application and edited it over and over again...especially the essay parts.

you are allowed to use 11th and 12th grade as much as you want
anything below will not be significant unless u were a part time robin in gotham city =D
