Legacy applicants receive rejection sooner?

Hi, I stumbled across something from a post back from 2008 saying that legacy applicants get notification of rejection before other applicants find out. Was it ever true, and is it still?

I have not heard anything about this before. It seems unlikely, however, as it would be significantly more effort on the part of Rice with no gain for anyone.

Antarius – since you’re a senior member, can you tell me if, when the admissions people send out notifications, are you notified either way? I keep thinking that we won’t hear anything and won’t know… :)

Yes. They will give you a Yes, No or Deferred. You won’t be left in the dark.

Thanks Antarius. I’m a legacy applicant and was just hoping that an empty email inbox yesterday was a good sign. Ah well. :)

Good Luck!

They do. my sis found out two weeks before regular applicants

^^ Interesting. Not sure why they do that though.

Thanks for the info.
