Legacy Calls

So I have been reading through old posts and seen that sometimes the parents of legacies will get a call a few days before if the decision will not be the happiest outcome - any thoughts?

I’m sorry if this is a little premature but I can’t help but stress about decisions!

Any thoughts about what? Is it true? Yes. Does it happen at every school? No. Is there a master list? No.

This does frequently happen, but don’t rely on it. When DS #2 applied to his brother’s school I was thinking we’d get a call or email early if he was rejected. By about 7pm on March 9th we hadn’t heard anything so I told him I thought it looked really good. Unfortunately, an email informing us of his rejection came seconds later.

I asked about this at my alma mater and was told they do make these calls a few days before for alumni and siblings.

Can confirm this happens. Friend of mine is an alum at Hotchkiss and received one of these calls.
