On the supplement on the common app it asks if any parents/grandparents/great grandparents have attended Cornell. I don't have that but my cousin went there and was on the board of trustees for a while, although he's not involved anymore. There doesn't seem to be any place I could put this but I have a feeling it might help since Ivy's are big on the whole legacy thing and he was pretty involved. Any suggestions of how to add it in somewhere?

You could probably put that in the additional information section of the common app.

When I visited Cornell they told me that legacy is only considered for ED applicants. However, I am planning on applying RD and both of my parents attended Cornell. Do you think this will still work in my favor? What experiences have people had with legacy for RD?

I personally know someone who had stats that weren’t really up to par but was a double-legacy and he got a guaranteed transfer while many applicants with better stats from my school were rejected.

My stats are in range for Cornell as is, do you think double legacy for RD will make a big difference?

Even if your stats are fine there’s no harm in putting your double legacy on there. I’m pretty sure legacy is considered for both ED and RD so you should put it in your application, it might boost you up above some other people with similar stats.
