Our daughter is applying ED to U of R and it is a reach for her. Not an impossible reach, but definitely a reach. Her standardized scores are a bit below the average for U of R. She has so much going for her, however, has visited the campus several times and interviewed there formally which went well. She is a very good student and a well-rounded young lady, with lots of volunteer work, hobbies and passion.
Here’s the legacy part: Both my husband and I went to U of R for undergraduate. Additionally (which may not matter at all), my father went to U of R Medical School and my brother and cousin went to U of R undergrad. We love U of R! My daughter feels it is her dream school - but again, it is a reach. I wonder if legacy status means anything. According to the U of R website, it really means very little, or even nothing. I wonder if that is just what they “have” to say on the website, or if it is really true.
Anyone have a clue about this?
Thanks so much!
