Legit UC Application E-mail???

Hi,

Did anyone receive an e-mail from wgrimes@ets.org with display name "UC ApplicationInfo." The e-mail title was Transfer Applicaton Update - ID xxxxxx (My ID #)

Dear Transfer Applicant, UC Application ID: xxxxxx

Thank you for applying to the University of California for the fall 2009 term. We are reviewing your application and need the following additional information:

• An updated list of your fall 2008 courses with all associated grades

• A list of any additional coursework in progress or planned through summer 2009

To update your information you will need your UC application ID number, which is listed above. Log on to our website and complete the Application Update form at:

Untitled Document

You should complete an Application Update form as soon as you receive your final grades for your fall 2008 coursework. After your initial submission of the form, you can return to the Application Update website to update any in-progress or planned coursework. Even if you do not have any in-progress or planned courses, or your record of course grades was complete in your original application, you must still fill out this form.

Please note that each campus and program may have additional procedures and requirements for handling Application Update information. Contact individual campus Admissions Offices with campus-specific questions.

The Application Update form must be completed by January 31, 2009 to ensure that your latest grades and in-progress or planned coursework are considered in the admissions process. There is no guarantee that campuses will accept updates after this deadline, and failure to meet the deadlines may jeopardize your admission.

There is no need to wait for winter intersession grades – fill in the form without them. You may submit another update if your winter intersession grades become available before the deadline.

If your planned coursework changes or you receive D or F grades in winter coursework after the application update deadline, then you must notify the admissions office at each UC campus to which you applied.

UC Berkeley Applicants:

UC Berkeley requires its applicants to complete additional forms, available at:

admissions.berkeley.edu

The Berkeley forms should be completed in addition to the systemwide form.

Thank you for your attention. We look forward to learning more about your progress.

Sincerely,

The weird thing is, I updated the application on Jan. 10. Btw, this e-mail was in my spam mail and it was received at 4:53am....

What do you guys think?

I got the same one.

what about it would make you think it's illegitimate?
all it does is state your proper app ID, gives accurate links, info and contact info without asking you for a single thing.
don't worry.

thnx. 10char

haha, i just found out what 10char means.
i get it, but i still don't really get it.
why '10char'?

just stating you have nothing else to say. typing 10char to fill the 10 characters requirement.

has anyone not been able to update their grades?
i keep on trying to log in but it says my ID in invalid... -____-''

My Fall grades haven't posted. Sigh.

Turkeey: If it's your first attempt at logging in to the transfer update site you have a create a new account. It's not the same password/username as when you applied, it's by your application number. Maybe that will help.

I received the same email too and I updated my fall grades/planned spring classes on Friday (1/9).
Has anyone checked their application status and has a red "question mark" next to their "Transfer Application Update form"? This worries me...:(

haha i did set up a new account by it still doesnt work :/ i guess i'll call them.. if anyone has any more advice, please help! thanksss
