Legitamacy of enrolling into two graduate schools

I have a rather complicated educational background. I possess three B.S. degrees, two as a dual during my first term and the third afterward. Before getting the third BS I attended graduate school and almost finished a masters but switched focuses. Now I am attending a PhD program but have been given the chance to finish the masters as well. Unfortunately this would require completion concurrently as I am already into the PhD program. I would only be taking 1 cr hr towards the completion of the Masters. I'm not worried about the work load, I'm sure I can accomplish it. I am just curious if there are any legal or standard prohibitions regarding such a situation.

As to why I've taken such a path, let's just say I have plenty of time on my hands and I like to follow my curiosity.

Check with your department. It will depend on the department, but I don’t think there’s any legal prohibition against doing two programs at the same time.

I know I had to sign an agreement saying I wouldn’t be enrolled at another school or work another job while I was doing my PhD, but I imagine they might be able to give you a waiver or something of the sort if it’s only a one credit hour class and in the same town.
