I've got a child at Muhlenberg and I think I can give you an accurate but brief description of the school.
Our very first reaction when we visited remains true today- the students are very happy, energetic and friendly. You can see it by simply walking along the sidewalk of the central quad. There is a great balance of sports and the arts, particularly musical threatre and the groups mix well together. You are right that the campus is mostly white, but the students are very mixed on the basis of religion and there is a range of economic diversity. I wouldn't think that an ethnic minority would have trouble fitting in there because the kids are very open and welcoming. The small campus is also a factor in the closeness of the students in that there's not a lot of physical separation.

I'm a Lehigh grad. Even tho one is a research U and the other a LAC, Lehigh and Lafayette attract the same types...yes they are generally white, and lots of wealthy kids. However walking around Lehigh recently, there's more diversity (esp Asian) than when I went there. Both schools are fraternity/sorority oriented and the kids seem to be inclined toward being athletic. Most activities are based on campus since Bethlehem and Easton aren't the greatest. Academically they are also similar.

Don't know as much about Muhlenberg...there's not much Lehigh/Lafayette overlap in the students who go there. They are more like those who'd like other LAC's like Ursinus, Dickinson, Gettysburg, Drew, etc. Also L/L draw from a larger geographic area as a generalization. Allentown too isn't the greatest but it does provide the basics...it's fairly large.

All 3 have nice campuses...L and L are truly beautiful imo and I've been to a lot of campuses.

I have a son in his 2nd year at Lehigh. He thoroughly enjoys it there and is in very good shape from daily walking the "mountain".
I've been on campus frequently as we don't live too far away and have found it to be mainly caucasian but there is a mixture of other nationalities.
The Greek system is very active. Athletic teams are competitive in the Patriot League with the wrestling team one of the top 5 in the country.
