LeHigh or UIUC?

Hate to make decision like this, but I can only pick one, right?

I love LeHigh, beautiful campus, small school feeling, close home, friendly students body...
I love UIUC after I went for admitted student day, college town feeling, strong ECE program, lots of research and intern chances. But it's too cold and in the middle of corn field, far away from home.

I will have to pay almost the same amount tuition for both.

For Electrical engineering, which one should I go???? Help me make decision, please.

Lehigh is a very strong engineering school. There’s a bit of prestige associate with Lehigh Engineering as well… I know that I talk to people (i.e. GE people with connections for internships) and I say “I’m studying Mat. Sci. at Lehigh” and they go “Oh wow, Lehigh, that’s awesome.”

Lehigh doesn’t quite have a college town feeling… unless you stay on campus. Then it’s awesome.

Ultimately the decision boils down to you and where you feel you belong. The campus/student body is what did it for me at Lehigh, mostly. The strength of the school was another big one.

My son had the exact same choice and it came down to the student panel at UIUC, when they talked about how professors can be disinterested in undergraduate teaching because of their research and TA’s do a lot of the teaching. He chose Lehigh and is very happy he did. The professors are accessible, although sometimes teach above their subject matter. He also liked the smaller size of Lehigh. You can’t go wrong with either school.
