Help please.
My daughter was accepted. We both tried to find the financial aid package online and neither of us were successful.
If someone has a minute, would you kindly provide the deets of where I can find it?
Congratulations on your daughter’s acceptance! When you are logged into the portal, go to the symbol marked “Banner” in the upper right of the screen. Once in, click on financial aid, award, etc. Good luck!
@tgsesq i was able to find the financial aid using the directions list in r was ponse 245.
Is there a way to see merit aid/scholarships on the portal?
Merit is listed with the FA.
Awesome! Thanks, @twogirls
Those of you with the wait lists/rejections and high stats…seems like they were very tough on Engineering students this year so competition might have been harder than usual…that coupled with possibly a “lack of interest”? But definitely an unpredictable year for Lehigh, nonetheless.
I think Lehigh has made it very clear, for many years now, that they expect students that live close by to make the effort to visit the campus. You really can’t know if a school is right for you if you haven’t visited. Lehigh spends a lot of money flying out a bunch of prospective students for Diversity Weekend because they want the kids to see the school before they make their decision.
Thanks for the help finding financial aid. The award was very light, I thought that they used the expected family contribution figure as calculated by FAFSA? And of course I was hoping for a merit award. Even so I’m very proud of my daughter for getting in, and we will do whatever it takes to get her this great education!
Is there no merit award unless you apply for FA?
"Scholarships and merit-based awards are gift aid awarded to students solely on a merit basis. When awarding merit aid, we take a holistic approach, looking beyond the numbers related to academic talent alone and reviewing what a student contributes outside the classroom as well as considering recommendations and personal essays.
Some of Lehigh’s scholarships require an additional application; for others, all students are considered just by applying to Lehigh. Be sure to read the summaries below for the steps you need to take in order to be considered for an award.
Please note that students who receive merit awards, but also show demonstrated financial need, are eligible to receive grant money to meet, but not exceed, their calculated need."

I would love to go to lehigh, but they only offered me $5,000 where other good schools are offering half tuition. Does anyone know if lehigh will match other colleges?
Congratulations on your acceptance! What are the other schools you got accepted into? What did they offer you? It is hard for us to be helpful without more information!
No, they did not match the award for us. We sent them the letter from Drexel which was offering over half tuition and they said thanks but no thanks. My son has always wanted to go to Lehigh and he is a junior now. He has loved most of his experience. Some bumps in the road though, has not been thrilled with some of his engineering professors and his advisor etc. I can tell you that they offered us $6,000 in grant money the first year, $3,000 the second year (when our income was less than the year before because of a layoff), and $0 for his third year. So they are NOT at all generous with money. My advice, go where the money is, unless money is not an issue for you and your family. I don’t think Lehigh is worth the extra money, and neither does my son
@kikkydee Rensselaer polytechnic institute offered 25k per a year, Pitzer college offered 16k per a year, colorado college offered a little under 10k. There were a few others but they were state schools so they aren’t as comparable, and tuition is already much cheaper at those schools.
@bluepulaski thanks for the info, if they don’t match I really doupt I will be going. I don’t think it would be possible to take out enough loans for me to go.
My sat is 2230 730cr720mt780wr and subject tests were 720biom760math1. Grade is 97 and I am 13 of 417 kids in my grade. Lehigh was my first choice and they waitlisted me. What are the odds I can get either off the wait list or offered January acceptance.
My son turned down some pretty amazing and tempting scholarships (and other colleges) to attend Lehigh, but we have never once regretted his decision, because Lehigh has been the perfect school for him.
Every school needs to be a good steward of their endowment, though, so sometimes it leads to some tough decisions on the part of the students, parents, and institutions.
Lehigh is pretty amazing from everything I’ve seen and heard from my son. If only I had known how wonderful it is when I was selecting my college. He’s working very hard but loving college life, knowing he has an extremely successful future ahead of him.
Congratulations to all of you, wherever you ultimately decide to matriculate. High school is a rough four years, so enjoy your summer.
While I think I would really love Lehigh I just don’t know if I could justify 120k in student loans. I will be studying product design, not engineering, so I don’t know if the investment would be worth it.
dhuggins, While I think it would be awesome for you to attend Lehigh $120,000 in student loans is a staggering thought. I think you are wise to stop and consider how these loans would impact the next 15 years or so of your life. If I was you I would not incur this kind of debt. There are plenty of really great schools that can get you a great job in your field of interest. Best of luck to you!!! Best, Kikkydee
So, I went to the CAS candidates day today and instead of reaffirming my interest in Lehigh that I got from an admissions info session while I was applying, I came away feeling kind of on the fence about it. I’m interested in history, poli sci, and Econ but all the CAS panel kept talking about was engineering. They were also really heavily focused on promoting Africana studies, which sounds interesting, but really isn’t something I would spend 50k a year on. Just seems like their CAS is a bit unfocused.
