What is the diversity life weekend?
What takes place and is it just as it sounds? Perhaps URM invited only?
@nosyla I got my letter today and I’m not a URM, but I am from Nevada if that counts for any kind of diversity.
I got an acceptance letter today too. Is anyone going to the diversity weekend? I would love to take advantage of the free transportation, but I might have other commitments that weekend.
D Life weekend is a great opportunity to see campus, meet current students, sit in on classes and ‘explore the nightlife.’ I highly suggest going!!

Guys, You got “Likely Letters”!!! My son got one too, years ago. My son has a fantastic time during Diversity Weekend. He meant some wonderful kids that remained close friends. But, Lehigh is like that - everyone wants to make friends with everyone. Please make the effort to go!!!

P.S. Likely Letters are usually sent to athletes. But, Lehigh uses them to reach out to some of their top pick students. When my son got his official offer he was also given a Merit Scholarship which was a surprise. It is pretty hard to turn down a school that goes out of it’s way to show you how much they want you. And once you are there they will continue to do their best to keep you happy.

Yes, but a chosen few got the equivalent of likely letters and invited to a diversity life weekend so they know they are accepted. Doesn’t mean you didn’t get in, just that you weren’t in this chosen group. Seems like it might be limited somewhat but not completely to female engineers and URM’s, or maybe people from more remote locations. And possibly some others that they really just want to come there!

@collegemomjam. I think you hit the nail on the head. We are from NY and my student who applied is certainly not considered diverse. Those who I’ve known to have been invited are from more unlikely states to attend Lehigh… Nevada, Arizona, TN. As well as URM. Exactly what the weekends name implies- DIVERSITY!
@nosyla exactly! We are non-diverse female from NJ…Lehigh is full of students like that!
@collegemomjam I have seen you on many of the same threads! I truly wish your D luck in the next 2 weeks! It certainly has become a nail-biter in this house! We are one stressed out bunch… Ugghh!

I just got the letter today. I am not URM and in NJ. I’ve toured the campus many times but not stayed overnight. Would it be worth going to this if I have already seen the campus?
I would recommend you go if you have been invited. It is a great way to start meeting kids that you will go to school with. Lehigh also offers another really fun program where Freshman can move into the school three days early and take part in various group activities - another great opportunity to students to get to know kids from their class.
Before school started my son had already participated in these two programs and had developed some really good friends. Some of these kids were still in his very closest circle of friends when he graduated.
I got the letter on Monday - Asian (Pakistani) from NJ, applied Arts-Engineering
