Would anyone please like to chance me for Lehigh ED I class of 2024?

Intended major: Computer Science(B.S.) from P.C. Rossin College of Engineering.

Hi Rishi. I hope your name is Rishi. Sorry if I got it wrong.

I am also applying ED to Lehigh. I am an international student from Nepal. I wanted to ask you a question about the English requirement. Did you give IELTS or TOFEL?
Well, you have 730 in ERW so I guess the requirement got waived.

I emailed the university about the English requirement in August and they told me that over 630 in ERW the requirement will be waived. I have a 640 so I applied ED, but yesterday they told me that they need 650 to waive it and my scores aren’t enough. I am so confused. Why are they saying two different things, I have no clue.

So I guess my chances at Lehigh are 0.001% but anyways its okay.

My stats are:
SAT: 1440 (ERW:640 & Maths:800)
I haven’t taken any Subject Tests or Language tests. (YAAY for me)
Grades: A, A, A, B, b ( A-levels: Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology and AS level English
Language respectively)

ECs:
-President of Biodiversity Club of Budhanilkantha School (11th and 12th grade)
-Leader of Budhanilkantha school’s student team for Zero Waste at School organized

-Captain, Yellow House, Shanti Niketan School [9th grade]
-Part of School Volleyball Team [9th grade]
-Treasurer, Ward Child Club, Pokhara Metro, Ward-5 [9th and 10th grade]
-Secretary, Bagaincha Child Club [9th grade]
-Speaker at a cultural program ( Volunteer) Donated money collected to dam
maintainance

-Chemistry Mastermind 2017 [11th grade]
-Award for overall brilliant student [10th grade]

  • Full merit scholar from grade 6 to 10

I am also passionate about adventure sports and hiking. I have done paragliding and zip flying. The maximum height I have trekked to is 3700m, Macchapuchre Base camp [after 10th grade].

Hi @9167Isha, have you checked your applicant checklist? cuz there’s check boxes for all the requirements and if your TOEFL/IELTS box is checked then, your English proficiency requirement has been waived btw I took the TOEFL test and got a 105 on it(pretty average, barely studied for it) but I didn’t submit the official scores cuz the TOEFL requirement seemed to have been waived on my application checklist.

Your application seems pretty good to me.Your test scores and grades seem to be in the upper 50th percentile and your ECs and Honors are especially excellent. So, all in all I believe you have a great shot at Lehigh. Let’s hope we both make it!

And,I don’t mind it but just to let you know,my name’s Rishabh.

Hey @Rish1017
I have checked my application checklist. And well I arugued as bad as I can on the emails. And guess what I got an email yesterday saying that my TOFEL will be waived. I guess the check will appear within few days. Finally it’s such a relief. Did you submit the SAT scores officially from the College Board?
Lets hope we both make it make it Rishabh.

Well,that’s great!
Yeah,I did submit the official SAT scores from College Board and if you don’t mind, would you like sharing what your intended major is.

My intended major is Finance. But I am still not sure.

That’s alright. Even I am still kinda confused between CS and CSB.

When did you guys receive an email for Portal Application? I got it too late, on the 14th of November.

Hey @Nothing000, I applied on the 31st of November,so I received the email for portal application on the 1st of November. They generally send the email within 2-3 business days of your application date.
Furthermore,I believe that the ED I deadline for domestic applicants was extended to November 15 due to the California forest fires so,if you’re a domestic applicant, I don’t think that you’re in any trouble.

Hey @Rish1017

I am an international student and got the email for the portal too late, on 14th November. Moreover, my counselor had submitted her recommendation on the 31st of October, but they haven’t still put a tick on the application checklist. And, I had submitted my CSS profile on October 23, and there isn’t a tick on that too. I have sent multiple emails to Lehigh regarding the problem. They are not responding. I don’t know what’s the problem.

hi! does anyone know when we will hear back? this is the first year, to my knowledge, they’ve said “early December” instead of “mid-December” so I’m wondering if you guys know anything. thanks!

Hey @lovesummer123, going by sheer previous years data,it does seem that they tend to release their decisions around mid-December and I personally wouldn’t get my hopes up to receive a decision from them within the first two weeks of December.
Anyways, good luck and let’s hope for the best!

@Rish1017 when i went to the fall open house, i believe i heard that we would hear back December 7-10th. don’t know if that will be right or not.

@lovesummer123 I contacted the Admissions Office today regarding the same and they said that all ED I applicants will receive their decisions by mid-December but they hadn’t decided on an exact day yet. Hope this helps!

@Rish1017 even though the portal says early December???

@lovesummer123 yep,that’s what they said.

does anyone have an update on when we’ll hear?
