What is Lehigh’s ED 1 acceptance rate?
About 40-50%, but keep in mind that is when all the athletes apply, so for an average student probably 35-40%.
Last year’s ED1 heard the 15th, is it safe to assume it’s the same this year?
According to the latest CDS, Lehigh accepted 652 of 1088 ED applicants for Fall 2016, which is an acceptance rate of 59.9%. That includes both ED1 and ED2.

The Lehigh website says “Mid December”

For anyone who applied ED1, what are your stats? Good luck everyone, hope we’ll get in
I was talking to a family friend who works in an admissions office at a different school. She said she’s confident we will find out on the 15th becuase its a Friday. The admissions office will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, and they won’t wait until the 18th to tell us.
I hope so. I am applying to the College of Business and Economics and my stats are
SAT-1500, 760 rw/740m
ACT-33
GPA-91 w, 88 uw. My weakest point but I have a strong upward grade trend.
Rigor- OK. 12 honors, 3 APs
Essays and ECs are pretty mediocre
What are my chances?
GPA – 3.83 UW, 4.243 W
16 out of 193 Class Rank (top 10%)
ACT – 27 (yeah I know its pretty low)
SAT Subject tests – US History, 720, World History, 670
Rigor – Decent rigor freshman year, very rigorous sophomore/junior/senior year, 6 AP’s in total
Essays – Very Strong
Recommendations – A strong teacher recommendation and two strong outside recs
Demonstrated interest – Applying ED, Interview, attended Junior Open House
EC’s – Drum Major of marching band, founded a club and president of two others clubs, JV Tennis
Other strengths – Fluent in Slovak and Czech (first gen American), Tested out of Geometry and Honors Pre Calculus, Extensive volunteer work, Live two miles away from Lehigh (I guess this is a strength because my school sends lots of kids to Lehigh every year)
I think my only noticeable weaknesses are my below average ACT score and the fact that I’m a Caucasian male living in PA?
For Fall 2017, Lehigh accepted 303 of 1,964 applicants with 27-28 ACT (or 1200-1290 SAT). That’s an acceptance rate of only 15%, which is significantly below their overall rate. So yes, this is a weakness.

Applying ED is a plus, but it still may be a reach. Being Caucasian, male, and from PA does nothing to improve the odds, because Lehigh gets plenty of well-qualified applicants in all of those categories. Marching band could help, if you were prepared to continue in college, because Lehigh has a large and prominent one.
Incidentally, the surplus of male applicants at Lehigh is unusual; it’s more common for schools today to have a surplus of female applicants. This is the case, for example, at Moravian and Muhlenberg, which are also in the Allentown/Bethlehem area.
Hi, I applied to Lehigh ED1. Bit worried since both GPA and test scores are pretty low. Freshman and sophomore year were pretty awful due to some responsibilities at home (explained in my essay).
-GPA: 3.32
-SAT: 1260
-Only APs taken are the three I’m taking now senior year.
-Senior year course load: AP Psychology, AP Calc AB, AP Macroecon, Spanish 4, English 4, Gov
-decent ECs
-pretty good essay/letter of recs
Freshman GPA: 3.14
Sophomore GPA: 3.25
Junior GPA: 3.43
Senior GPA: so far/projected 4.0 (Weighted)
Hooks:
-First Generation
-Hispanic/Latino
-Live on the west coast (CA) maybe an advantage, heard that Lehigh likes getting people from different regions of the country other than mid Atlantic region like PA, NJ, NY)
Major: Finance
I have shown lots of interest though, and I know Lehigh emphasizes demonstrated interest when it comes to evaluating applicants (interacting with admission counselors, visiting the school)
Also heard that Lehigh ED acceptance rate is around 50-60%, compared to 25-30% RD. Hoping my demonstrated interest, essay, letter of recs, hooks will somewhat overshadow my academic resume, but completely rely on it obviously.
I really want to go to Lehigh but my stats are really low. Even with a good essay and letter of recs, I’m not sure if I’ll get in. Maybe being from CA and having some hooks helps.
I’m taking the Dec SAT even though I know it would be too late for ED1. (hoping to get around a 1400), for if they want to see those scores…if they defer me to RD.
So you’re saying it’s a reach school simply because of my below average score?
I am not a Lehigh admissions officer, and cannot give you a definitive answer. But that would be my guess. Lehigh’s 25%-75% ACT range is 29-32, so a 27 ACT is well below the 25th percentile.
Your GPA is stronger than your test score, so maybe you do better in classes than on standardized tests. If you don’t get into Lehigh as a freshman, you might consider attending a local community college, then reapplying to Lehigh as a transfer student. You get a “second chance” that way – and transfer admissions are typically based on college GPA, not test scores. Incidentally, you also save big on tuition costs.
Lehigh has Transfer/Articulation Agreements with Northampton Community College Honors Program and Montgomery County Community College, so they are clearly interested in high-performing local community college students.

EC: President of Student Council, President of MUN club (awarded Best delegate 2 times), Editor of School’s Newspaper and Yearbook, Member of my school’s choir, Volleyball (Setter for 3 years)
Recommendations letters are great, essays as well
Did an interview and received a really encouraging email from my counselor

I speak 4 languages
Expressed interest in specific programs (both academic and non-academic) and contacted faculty and staff regarding them
2 more weeks, fingers crossed Good luck everyone!
Only 10 more days! I’m so nervous!!! Good luck to everyone who applied I can’t wait!
Will the admission response come with the financial aid response if you applied…?
Yeah. The website says that if your app for aid was submitted by the deadline (nov. 15), you will hear back either with your admissions letter or shortly after.
Good luck to all!
One more week! Did anybody else apply with Chemical Engineering as their intended major?
freaking out!!! i hope they send out an email telling us the date/time like other schools do
