I just got into Tulane and am really excited about it! However, I also love Lehigh... Lehigh has been my number one for a while, and Tulane my number two. Until now I've been pretty sure about applying ED II to Lehigh (I think I have a decent chance, but who knows).
Academically and prestige wise, I have gotten the impression from many that Lehigh has the edge. I really want an academically strong school (that will open many doors in the future, etc.) as well as one with a thriving social scene (as both schools clearly seem to have). Here are my considerations: (Btw tuition is not really a factor)
Tulane wins hands down for better surrounding area... New Orleans>Bethlehem
Social scene seems to be fantastic at both schools. I want to be a member of greek life, so that scene doesn't bother me.
Diversity? Student friendliness? What are the parties like at Lehigh (I am aware of the scene at Tulane)?
I am considering majoring in Business or International Relations, but I am not sure which school is better in these programs.
I am also worldly and cultural, so I plan to study abroad/improve skills in another language. Which school has a more international focus/vibe? Students who seem to fit this global/cultural awareness?
I would love to hear about anyones' opinions or experiences with either/both schools! Thank you!

My sense is that Lehigh is probably better for math and engineering, while Tulane has the edge in the soft sciences: Psych, Sociology, History, etc. I’m not sure which is better in the true humanities or in the non-engineering hard sciences.

But Lehigh is known for making engineers, while Tulane is known for making lawyers.

In terms of Business, Tulane is ranked #63 in terms of MBA, while Lehigh is unranked.

bumpp

There’s probably not much separating these two in IR.

Where are you planning on getting a job after college? what region/state are you from. that could make a difference

I thought Tulane was best known as a pre-med school, more than a pre-law one. After all, without using a committee letter, Tulane still places ~70-75% of all seniors that apply to med schools, and ~10% of the graduates actually move on to med school.

@RealTalkdoe I’m from the new york area, so i probably plan on getting a job here or elsewhere in the northeast

the parties at Lehigh can be quite frat-based and beer-thick, not unlike many other schools. nonetheless, the academics are genuine at Lehigh and the alumni network can be very helpful, particularly in the northeast. Lehigh business has a good reputation in the northeast, but it’s primarily known as a STEM school.

thank you! anyone else?
