for my optional essay, i wrote about my experience with math. but I also have a rough explanation of why i couldn't take math beyond my high school which end up being about 550 words ( they specifically asked " try to keep under 500 words")

should I
a> keep the rough explanation with 550 words total
or
b> email (is that what I am suppose to do? or sent in a letter) in more detailed explanation and not put it in the essays so it would only be like 460 ish

a or b?
thanks!

If it's a rough explanation, don't you think it would be wise to review the essay one more time and see if you can cut out a few things. Ask a teacher or a friend for help. And how would the number of words go down that much in option b? It doesn't make sense to me.

well , it takes a couple sentences to explain for both junior and senior year since I took calc BC in sophomore year....maybe i shouldn't have skipped soo many math classes.... i never knew that I'll have trouble getting transportation and schedule arrangement stuff for the other math classes at community college.
my explanation:
I am unable to take any math classes outside of school because since I only live with one working parent, I don't have transportation to community college till senior year. However, this year there are only two times for class that is not during the school day. I have weekly robotics officer meeting in conflict with the night class. I was first enrolled in the early afternoon class, but I withdrew from it because it was keeping me from going to math club and taking the contests as well as leading some after school robotics activities.

( I am robotics co-president and math club secretary so it is kinda mandatory for me to be there... there is always a lot of stuff going on in robotics. and for math club, i help organize for like the whole school to have opportunity to take the math contests, average of about 400 people per Mandelbrot and we had 750 people take the AMC last year.... don't ask.. I go to a nerdy school )
I feel i still left a lot of important things out like why going to math contest and robotics things is more important to me than the class.

The info about the importance of the math contest and robotics thing seems vital to the understanding of why you withdrew from your math courses at community college. You should definitely explain that. What was the first half of your essay mainly about? I don't think you need to write so much about your junior year, just summarize.
