Length of Peer Rec

I have finished my friend's peer rec, but it feels short. It is currently under 500 words. I described what differentiates him from my other friends. Is that a proper way of addressing it? Also, should it be longer?

Length seems fine. Your approach sounds like a good one.

One more question. I specifically addressed it to Dartmouth and identified it by name. Before submitting I am given a warning that it should not be addressed to a specific institution. Do I need to heed this warning for a Dartmouth peer evaluation?

That’s baffling, since the peer evaluation is a specific Dartmouth thing. I would ignore the warning.
