Go Washington! Let’s eliminate Oregon from the PAC-12 championship…
Never have wanted Washington to win a game more than tonight. Put the Utes back in that PAC 12 championship game.
The question is what’s next if USC beat Utah on Friday? Would the Rose Bowl choose 10-2 Washington (who Utah didn’t play) over a 4 loss Utah team, especially if UW is higher ranked? A Utah-tOSU rematch would be fun!
If the Utes lose, and it wouldn’t surprise me, I think Washington should get the bid provided USC goes to the playoff. Though I love the Utes a 4 loss team does not belong in the Rose Bowl. On another note, I like many, would like to see a PAC team in the playoffs but not the Trojans at the expense of the Utes. Hope the Utes can get out of their malaise and put a licken’ on them.
Regarding Ohio State, their pass defense yesterday very much resembled Utah’s pass defense in the Rose Bowl. It was atrocious.
Assuming USC beats Utah Friday in Vegas, where the spread is a paltry -2 (bet USC big with that spread), then the Rose Bowl will take the higher ranked Washington Huskies for sure, IMO.
Again to me, no way the Rose Bowl takes a lower ranked 4-loss Utah.
I’ve seen plenty of both teams, Washington and Utah, including Washington’s Pac 12 “After Dark” game against Washington State last night, with Michael Penix Jr (vs. Cam RIsing, Utah’s QB), UDub is also a much more exciting team too.
Interesting development about the Rose Bowl match-up first reported by Collegefootballnews dot com and Fox Sports. Ohio State and the Rose Bowl Committee have mutually agreed not to invite Ohio State. Lower ranked Penn State will receive the invitation. This opens the door for the Rose Bowl to invite a lower ranked Washington, if the Utes lose the Pac-12 Championship game.
Don’t feel bad for the Ohio State faithful. They will probably go to the Orange Bowl, Florida is a more popular destination and drivable from Ohio.
Sadly, I think OSU still has a shot at the CFP. My biggest fear is OSU beating Michigan about a month from now either in the semifinal or championship game.
I am USC’s biggest fan tonight . . .
I would love to see a Penn State - Utah match up.
I can’t root for USC. It’s just too ingrained in my being. Plus, I like a little controlled chaos. USC may still go to the CFP, even if they lose. Just depends on the type of loss to Utah.
Now, if OSU does sneak into the #4 position, with a USC loss tonight, then they’ll likely have to play Georgia. And they’ll get crushed by Georgia in Atlanta, Georgia.
Now if TCU loses to Kansas State tomorrow, then all heck breaks loose.
I think Michigan is suddenly Ohio State’s Kryptonite, and that Ohio State can certainly score with Georgia. On a good field indoors, fast field, Ohio State’s athletes (its NFL receiving corps especially) can go 100%. I suspect UGA/OSU would be a thriller, maybe a 38-34ish game… notwithstanding UGA’s near-home advantage.
Against Georgia’s defense? I’ll disagree.
Tennessee’s offense with Hendon Hooker was VERY good too, but that game wasn’t close. Even though the final score was 27-13, Tennessee scored a late TD in the 4th Q to make it appear closer than it was.
Michigan exposed OSU’s D. OSU has had trouble with their DB’s all season long.
Wow - really? With two losses? If they lose tonight, I think they are out and one-loss OSU is in, regardless of how close it is. But I really hope I’m wrong.
That one USC loss was to Utah in Utah at night 43-42, if I recall correctly.
OSU got stomped at home. And some of it depends on the TCU game as well.
And you have Caleb Williams the probable Heisman Trophy winner. That’s why I said “may.”
OSU is sitting at home this weekend too.
Michigan beat OSU because they capitalized on the ridiculous game plan from OSU’s DC.
He dared them to throw over the top with little or no safety help. He didnt need to take those chances as OSU’s talent level is better than Michigan.
That said, I prefer USC over OSU.
Agree - this is the best argument for even a two-loss USC. Unfair that a loss during championship weekend could count against you. That being said, I still can’t see the committee waving them though.
Not happening but I would enjoy Georgia stomping OSU on National TV… Oh, Yea,… Someone already did that… …
On other college football news Michigan has Cade McNamara listed as Questionable…
Another example of choosing your safety over your reach school !!
Oh, this isn’t an admissions chat…
Cade McNamara had surgery and is out for the season. He also entered the transfer portal and is transferring to Iowa.
