The NCAA actually does allow football games to be shortened by mutual agreement of coaches and referees. There are examples listed online of this.
It is unfortunate this important game was so lopsided.

TCU had a fairytale season to get to the CFP and deserved to be there. Congratulations to them. It will be fun to see where Sonny takes the team next year.
But the real championship game was NYE UGA vs tOSU. UGA came out on top (miraculously), but that was a championship game!

We were at the Natty and flew to LA on a flight that was 80% TCU fans. It was a fun game to attend as a UGA fan. Very embarrassing for TCU. They were not ready, as I predicted. We were also at the Peach Bowl. That was a game!
