Lets compare who's having the more difficult high-school life...

^^^ Same. I take some very easy classes, and some moderately difficult classes, but that doesnt matter to me. I take what I wanted. I dont need 234545233886830963 APs. I have a life.

My life isn't actually all that bad...only on weekdays. I spend all of Friday night out and I just wake up early on Sat's (7 AM, I don't know how I do it...I tell my dad to force me out of bed every morning and do all my EC/Studying/Hw till I go out for the rest of the night. So basically I party it up Friday/Saturday night...every weekend. And I kill myself with school-related crap during the rest of the week

Mr. chipset, you aren't even taking Calculus AB...How'd you get 3.15 FIRST SEMESTER 9th grade? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?p=2847301#post2847301

I'm beat when I get home so I take an hr nap and then eat dinner...I prolly start my homework at 7-8pm...I have 4 classes per day and I have at least 5+ hours of homework to do...I usually stop around 1am...I end up sleeping around 2am.

However I have to babysit (6pm-1am) sometimes so I don't finish my hw or I sleep really late.

Lets not forget in IB i need 150+ additional hours...aka CAS hours and then I have my ECs:

Also, now that I am a junior I need to study and test out of two classes which I am taking SL (standard lvl) : Spanish IV and Psychology

Do you really want the description of HOW I got 3.15 DUE to the first semester of 9th grade? I mean, in details with descriptions/procedures on how to accomplish such? You want some guidance on subject of achieving 3.15 GPA with help of first semester of 9th grade?

It's really pleasing by the way that you actually took time to research my personal post history. I appreciate such attention.

Yes, IB.flip, you do win. How do you live on 2.5 hours of sleep?? I usually get around 5 or 6, and, in order to have enough energy to make it through the day, I have to drink Red Bull like it's my job.

You guys are dorks. You dont determine who is having a harder HS life by comparing high school schedules. WHile this and ECs are a factor, there is also the social aspect. For example, someone who is depressed bc their best friend killed themself and they have all APs and are secretly gay and are contemplating suicide will have the hardest HS life. Or, someone whos girlfriend just left them for, I dunno, their HS enemy and they just failed a test and they are developing a problem with heroin and has all APs would have a hard life, etc....Then again, most CCers dont have social lives so....

There's different kinds of stress, dude, and people react differently to them. You can't compare emotional stress in one person to physical stress in another, for example, because they mean different things to different people.

By the way, I wouldn't say having a suicidal friend or getting dumped or getting into drugs automatically means you have more of a social life than someone who's really involved in his school and community. In fact, wouldn't it be the opposite way around?

IB.flip -- shazbot! 2.5 hours of sleep? I can consider that all-nighter. I think you should work on time management. Like, you could eat dinner while you're working on homework and get sleep in bus, also in that 4-7 PM period.
I'm sleeping 7 hours on usually loaded days (slept 10 today) and I believe it's too few!

Haha, 2.5 an all-nighter? I'd call tonight an all-nighter. Do I hear the sound of hazelnut beans in a coffee pot?! I'm souped.

that wasnt my point...dude. My point is you cant measure how hard your HS life is by classes and ECs alone.

My classmates and I spent a fair amount of time comparing draft lottery numbers and wondering what they would be when we were 19 and the Army was looking forward to giving us an all-expenses-paid trip to Vietnam.

AP Physics
AP Biology
AP English Lit.
AP Spanish Lit.
AP U.S. History
AP Calculus
Band

EC's:
-I know it's not technically, but band takes up alot of time. I'm super competitive, and practice almost everyday before and some days after school.
-Math Club, two practices a week, one hour each
-Engineering Club, whenever I don't have band or math club practice.

Totals to a day of 7:30-6:00ish (on average)

Oh, and just general SAT prep.

Schedule:

AP English Language (sorta hard to get an A)
AP Calculus AB
AP US History
Web Development and Production
AP Chemistry (maybe 3 people out of 25ish have an A but majority have C's cuz our teacher is a dumbass)
Spanish 3

ECs:
Key Club
Junior Council
SAS Club (running for position)
Hackey Sack Club
Director of church play
Church choir

and i have to study for SAT's and SAT IIs
lovely
my social life is being flushed down the toilet
o and so are my chances for UCLA

ahahahahahah you guys make me laugh (the ones who commented on my post) somehow I do get on with my day on 2.5 hours of sleep...a few days ago i slept only 1hr xD

the thing is...I ALWAYS multi-task!!! I time manage everything too!!! it's just I have so much no matter how much I multi-task and time manage, it's not enough.

my definition of all-nighter: no sleep at all...and i had to do it b4 too for this Robotics club I was in and then again for some 5+ essays I had to do and some other stuff I can't remember right now. ^.^;;

and hey chipset...i wish i could get sleep on my bus, but just a few weeks ago another stop was added to my bus w/ 15+ ppl on that one stop and they are so noisy x.x

classes:

AP us history
honors chem (there is no AP chem at my school... lots of ppl take the AP test tho)
french 4
spanish 3
junior english (no honors or AP available at my school)
pre-calc (no honors at my school)

EC's:
-ballet: 4 days/week after school for 3 hours, saturday 10-4, sunday 10-2
-i am the director of a dance company (seperate from my ballet school)... from january to april there is 8 hrs of rehearsal per week. plus i always have my directorly duties (find stage crew, rent theaters, rent rehearsal space, audition dancers, make costumes, and RAISE MONEY TO DO IT ALL- nice theaters are like $3,000 each weekend!!)
-cheerleading- 6 hrs a week
GSA
Key club
Green Club
Foreign films and food club

i am taking the PSAT on saturday 10/21 and the ACT on 10/28

in the spring im taking the AP tests for: us history, env science, english lit, and chemistry.
SAT II's for chem, us history, math 2, and french

Junior applying to college

IB English III
IB American History
PIB French III
Discrete Math/Graph Theory
IB HL Physics
Differential Equations/Matrix Theory

(English, Fizix, and DiffEq are the only ones that actually require work. Graph Theory might be hard second semester, though...)

Plus research, physics club, Mu Alpha Theta, and I'm trying to prepare for the Physics and Math Olympiads (hope to make MOSP, though that's pretty near impossible). Oh yeah, and one college app, hopefully.

It's not the easiest of lives, but it's not that hard either.

If I would sleep 2.5 hours a day, I would be able to sleep whenever in whatever circumstances. But this doesn't sound good, maybe you should check with doctor. 2.5 hours and you can't sleep in bus -- that might indicate some serious problems with health.

I am trying to cure cancer; but so far my experiments have proven to be inconclusive. It is annoying the heck out of me and thus my life has been very difficult lately.
