Let's create a FAQ

Every week people ask the same questions and every week the regulars give the same answers. It's a pain for students because they come here expecting to find answers to questions that sometimes go answered (when they shouldn't) and it's a pain for the regulars because we have to answer the same questions all the time.

Let's use this thread as a FAQ. If you have any common questions about Cornell, ask them here. If you see a question that often pops up in this forum, answer it here. I will take questions and responses and edit them into this post. There are many different answers to the same question so feel free to respond with your own perspective even if someone already chimed in.

Here are a few questions to get you started:
* What is the atmosphere and life like at Cornell?
* What are the students like? Are they friendly? Is it diverse?
* What is Ithaca like?
* Cornell is in a rural place. Is it boring? What do students do there for fun?
* Is partying there big? How about drinking?
* How easy is it to transfer between colleges or majors?
* What are the classes like? Are they big or small?
* How big or prevalent is the Greek system?
* What are the dorms like and how does the housing situation there work?
* What is the easiest college to get in to?
* Should I bring a car?
* How is the pre-med program at Cornell?

These are just a sample of questions I see crop up. If you have any more to add, feel free to do so and even answer it if you can. I'm going to start answering them soon and hopefully you will too. If this thread is successful enough, we may even get it stickied if Alexander is in a good mood :)
