Let's Play the Boarding School Guessing Game!

St. Stephen’s International? This is so hard! :frowning:

UWC!

Oh, that makes a lot of sense :))

UWC!

Partial points to @lightningqueen12 . George School does have some students who are chosen by their national committees. But the AO does get involved.

Ooh yay!

Mascot is a Zebra but the headmaster is NOT from South Africa

Lol. Middlesex

Founded by a DuPont to give working class boys the same quality education wealthy boys got up North. Known for diverse student body, generous FA, and its “ethos.”

The Potomac School.

Saint Andrew’s School

Correct: St Andrew’s School in Delaware

Other girls schools prepared young women to be good wives to men of the elite. But the founder of this girls’ school envisioned a school where girls would study the same subjects as their male counterparts. Famous alumni include Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Senator Gillibrand of NY.

@CaliMex Emma Willard?

Emma Willard is correct!

If your holiday traditions include watching It’s a Wonderful Life, you might be intrigued to learn that Jimmy Stewart attended this boarding school. If you are a swimmer, you might know the names of some of the Olympians who attended. If you are a fan of formal dinners with assigned seats to make sure kids and faculty get to know each other better, you might be interested to know that at this school, they have formal lunches.

This school has the friendliest, warmest admissions staff on the boarding school circuit and attracts students from all over the world. (We didn’t apply because its location makes it difficult for them to attract US faculty and students of color.)

Amazing arts center, too…

MERCERSBURG!

Mercersburg is correct!

The head of school at this all girls institution is a former (and much beloved) Brown University professor who happens to be married to one of Deerfield’s former heads of school. They lived in Jordan for a while as she and her husband were invited by the Prince to help establish the King’s Academy there, an international boarding school modeled after Deerfield.

Any guesses?
