Your application seems very strong and I guess you can figure out what the reaches would be: namely, the ivy league colleges because they are reaches for anybody.

UPenn ED (SEAS) MY DREAM SCHOOOL!- reach
Columbia- reach
Cornell- low reach, this is known to be an “easy” ivy so good luck with this one
WashU in St. Louis- match
UPitt- safety
UChicago- low reach
UVA- low match i would think, mainly cuz i don’t know if you are in-state, which makes a difference with UVA
UC Berkeley- reach
Carnegie Mellon- low reach
MIT EA- low reach

UPenn ED (SEAS): Most likely a match (ivies are a crapshoot sometimes it seems)
Columbia: reach
Cornell: high-match
WashU in St. Louis: match
UPitt: super-safety
UChicago: reach
UVA: low match, probably
UC Berkeley: match (despite being out of state)
Carnegie Mellon: low reach
MIT EA: high reach for everyone

You have a good set of skills that Chicago I think would like. Any college looking for a well-rounded student would like to have you. Schools like MIT are the only ones that care if your ECs are focused on one passion. Good luck!

@PorkeyFiend can you explain why you gave me a match for Penn? Everyone else has said it is a reach and I was wondering how you would justify it. Thank You! You give me hope btw haha

You have the scores to get you into the threshold for consideration, from there you have a good variety of ECs and good SAT IIs. The interview and early app do seriously swing in your favor. Ivies like to see passion in their schools which you have demonstrated. I think it’s a 50/50 as a lot of what you have going for you is unquantifiable. I do believe you have a good chance.

UPenn ED (SEAS) reject
Columbia reject
Cornell reject
WashU in St. Louis reject
UPitt accept
UChicago reject, accept if AMAZING essay
UVA accept(in state) reject(OOS)
UC Berkeley wailist
Carnegie Mellon waitlist
MIT EA reject

Unless you go to Stuyvesant or TJHSST, your class rank will kill you. Most of these schools have 90%+ in the top decile. Your SATs and ECs look solid.

Thanks for chancing me! Ok, so I’m gonna start off with strengths. That senior year course load is very very impressive and so are all those 5s from last year. I can’t really call anything since the GPA is weird. SAT 1 is fine. Now for the weaknesses. You didn’t take the Physics SAT 2 and that is highly recommended (basically unofficially required) for all SEAS applicants. I’m not gonna lie that is going to hurt you. Also you haven’t been in very many of your ECs for 4 years (most were 2-3) and none of them seem to be very Computer Science focused. A recommendation from a math teacher instead of a humanities teacher probably would have been better too (perhaps you should ask a math teacher for one just in case you don’t get into Penn so you can have one for your RD schools). Hmmmmm this is a tough one. It could honestly go either way. SEAS is the second most selective Penn school. It is hyper competitive especially for asian males but you applied ED.
Penn SEAS ED- 50 y/ 50 deferred (I don’t think they will just out right reject you)
UPitt- 99.9y
MIT EA- 40y/ 60n
Carnegie Melon (computer science is very tough)- 50y/30 wl/ 20n
UChicago- 40y/60n
Columbia- 40y/60n
Cornell- 70y/30n
UC Berkley- 80y/20n
UVA-80y/20n
WashU SL- 80y/20n
So I was a bit hard on you there but no worries. I honestly think you will get into at least 5 of these schools and you will have plenty of choices. Hopefully I see you at Penn next year. Good luck!
P.S. Sorry that this was so long.

UPenn ED (SEAS)!: I think you have a really good shot at UPenn- especially since you are ED-ing
Columbia: If you had done early, I think that would have really boosted your chances (well, obviously… haha) but I think you still have a chance at it
Cornell: you have a chance if you have solid essays, since your stats are pretty strong
WashU in St. Louis: decent chance. they’re a good school, and from the people who I know who went there, I feel like they go off stats quite a bit, so you should be good
UPitt: there should be a 1% chance they don’t take you, and that would be if they press the wrong button
UChicago: that might be a bit tough, but you have a chance, too… it’s a reach for everyone, just like Columbia and Cornell
UVA: very likely for you to get in
UC Berkeley: a little tough as well, but leagues easier than cornell, columbia, and chicago- you have a fair chance of getting in… perhaps a 70y/30n
Carnegie Mellon: same as UVA- pretty strong chance
MIT EA- it’s hard for everyone, but if you put econ as your top major, then you have a much larger chance of getting in (since it’s not a scientific major). it’s still a tough school, though.
