No.

^I suppose you’re right.

Essay 1 received a score of 8. Essay 2 received a score of 11.

Thanks for doing the experiment…rather intriguing results.
I don’t know whether to feel depressed or optimistic now.

Hmm, I’d say I was the closest (Essay 1: 8, Essay 2: 10). ;)

Thanx for doing the experiment! Confirms studies that length is key. Can’t believe Essay 2 received an 11. How does the author feel about the essay?

Length and handwriting… also, voice and sincerity?

English level-wise, it’s an 8 at most.

This just goes to show us that CC grades lean towards 8. Yeah, I REALLY should’ve written larger in my essay, or I would’ve filled up those 2 pages. This is so stupid, though. WHY does length matter so much? I think the optimal way for a student to show his/her creativity and critical thinking is to prove a point in as few words as possible. Conciseness is key in the MC problems, so why shouldn’t the essay be concise? If I can prove a point in 10 sentences, I wouldn’t plug in 20 fancy half-assed sentences just to make my essay appear “insightful”. In college essays, each word has a meaning of its own; every detail stands out as a meaningful depiction of part of a person’s life. The SAT essay’s crap, srsly. I’m not saying this because I didn’t get a good score; it’s just that I really don’t see myself writing an impromptu persuasive essay in the future. If I need to be persuasive, I’d want to use at least a day to get my facts straight and brainstorm much more indepth approaches to proving each point.
