Let's talk backpacks

Aight so, let's talk about next year already. I need a new backpack. A good one that'll last me at least next year and senior year. My current one (Lands' End) has lasted me since 6th grade and finally needs to be replaced (couple zippers and broken, the material is starting to tear) but I need to find a good one. A really good one, because I carry a LOT of stuff.

This is what I carry each day:
[ul]
[]Laptop, 15" (so I really would like a laptop sleeve built in)
[]3 2" binders
[] Occasionally a textbook (have no idea what kinds of books I'll need next year)
[]phone, pens, pencils, water bottle, regular sized book, misc. (so lots of extra storage room)
[/ul]

And I'd like a comfortable one, since I carry around so much (and I walk all over campus too).

Right now I'm looking at this[/url</a>] one and this[/url</a>] one. From the reviews, seems like two great packs, but I didn't know if anyone on here had any input or ideas of anything else?

As always, thanks everyone. :)

Sincerely,
Your friendly neighborhood CE

I’ve used http://www.cuffcrazy.com/maxxum-swiss-gear-blue-notebook-backpack</a> for 3+ years and it still works great. Has a laptop sleeve, and tons of space for books and stuff.

You guys sure do spend a lot on backpacks! I’ll stick to paying $60 at MOST.
Found a cheap one! It may not be the nicest looking one, but it’s okay. [Amazon.com: JanSport Sputnik Backpack with Laptop Compartment (Luscious Lavender): Clothing](http://www.amazon.com/JanSport-Backpack-Compartment-Luscious-Lavender/dp/B0018JEZAI)
If you end up buying from the two options you had in mind, I really liked the gray one!

I comfortably carried this and more with an [eBags Macroloader](http://www.ebags.com/product/ebags/etech-20-macroloader-laptop-backpack/245854#model-features-tab) for a few years. When I got a new 17.3" laptop that wouldn’t fit in it, I had to upgrade. Newegg sent a free [Everki Titan](Business 120 | 18.4-Inch Easy-travel Laptop Backpack | EVERKI) with it, which not only fits my new laptop but is also more comfortable than the Macroloader overall.

Thanks, guys, I’ll take them into consideration.

Hands down Swiss Gear. A little expensive but well worth the money. GL

get a jansport like every1 else

I carry a handbag lol, actually I have 7 that I change with my mood lol. Girlygirlprobz

^Lol I don’t dare try that. My shoulder kills even if I wear my backpack using 1 strap for 5 minutes.

Anyway, yeah, I recommend Swiss Gear.

Yeah, I don’t do handbags…not comfortable at all, IMO (I have classes all over campus, probably walk at least a mile everyday with my backpack on at least).

So Swiss Gear, it is?

Try Dakine!! They have an amazing diversity of well built packs. Trust me, I’m a school supply snob with a bad back an Dakine is able to carry everything along with my 15.6 laptop in it. It’s feel light when compared to other bags, I have a cooler pocket on mine too. Plus, the range from 60-20!

I have an Eddie Bauer backpack that has a built in laptop sleeve that even when packed to the brim, feels really comfortable. I remember I got it from an outlet on sale during Memorial Day Weekend last year… originally 70 dollars, marked down to 25. So perhaps check your local L.L Bean/Eddie Bauer/etc outlets?

I carry a Longchamp Le Pliage Purse which is surprisingly comfortable and fits everything, including multiple textbooks. Now, is putting binders and textbooks into a 150 dollar purse intended for small items the best idea? No… but oh well.

My friend has the North Face Recon and I think it’s nice. It looks really compact but it also carries a lot of stuff.

I’m looking for a new backpack myself. I’ve had an American Apparel one for two years now but it’s not really functional. For next year, I’m planning on getting the Jansport Big Student backpack in black or the Recon.
