I've received a letter, well notification actually, I have to go pick it up tomorrow morning when the post opens...all I know now is that its international (I live in Mauritius) and that its registered mail, don't even know where and who its from.

I applied to Harvard...and at this point there is no reason anyone would send me registered international mail (don't have that many international friends) so well, I'm pretty sure it could only be Harvard.

So I would love your help to figure out what this is (yeah, I'm incredibly impatient)

I know its early to receive any kind of admission letter...I submitted a complex theory in Physics that I have been working on for the past 4 years as part of my application...if that has some "out-of-the-ordinary" weight in my application, could that warrant receiving some kind of early notification?

Or am I really getting ahead of myself, is it just something all applicants receive at this time? (seems odd though), and if it was just an ordinary communication from them, would it be registered mail?

I'm getting excited, but at the same time, am afraid to be disappointed tomorrow morning. Would be highly grateful for any input from you guys!

Thanks for taking the time to read, and great day/evening to you all.

harvard did say that they planned to send out several more non-athletic likely letters; it could be one of those. but, i have no idea how the admissions process works, and it could very well be something completely different. i wish you the best of luck, and please return to tell us how it turns out.

Hey thanks acadec, will let you guys know tomorrow what it is.

Well Student2008, it's probably less common, but I don't think they would have a rule against it :) My fingers are so incredibly crossed it hurts.

It is probably Harvard. If you don't mind, if you listed your stats we could know for sure. I just can't wait until waiting is over. At this point I just want to know yes or no.

Hey thanks Hamman :) I'm going out now, post office opens in 35 mins :P This is the most stressful morning of my life, and hopefully the beginning of the best day of my life (so far).

It could be that they are asking for something - say your finaid file is missing a form or something like that. Which may not be bad news if it's only that - they may be making certain your file is complete so that they can admit you at the end of the month. That's what happened in my daughter's case.
