I understand the Letter of Continued Interest is a recommended addition to applications for deferred or waitlisted early action/early decision applicants.
However, for colleges I applied Regular Decision and ED II to, should I also send an email now in order to update them on recent awards and family situations as well as demonstrate my continued interest in their school?
UMich has a specific online form to fill out which makes it clearer; other colleges (UCs, Ivys) I applied to do not have this feature.
Sending an e-mail now is fine. LOCIs generally are not a huge determining factor unless there has been something significant (award, family situation, etc) that is really worthwhile updating on. It never hurts to show your college(s) that your still very interested in them, though, so definitely give it a go.
For Ivies and colleges without the form that UMich provides, try and find your regional admission officer and send the e-mail directly to them. Otherwise, the admissions office would work fine.
Best of luck
hello @MrClutch007 I was wondering where u got the info for who to send to? I saw other people send LOCI to Ivys and they sent them to Dean, Chancellor etc. and a couple of other ppl involved in the process. Would this be a nuisance to do this or would u recommend I try?
