When submitting recommendations to colleges through Naviance, will teachers be able to see whether the college requires a recommendation or not before sending it?
Because some of the schools on my Naviance List (UCs, CSUs, Cal Poly, UW, UIUC, etc) don’t want any recommendations
I forgot to send out a request to my teacher with the specific colleges that require recommendations and now I’m worried she sent the recommendations to schools that don’t want any
Also, would there be any way for me to see (through the college application itself or Naviance) whether or not the recommendation has been sent to a certain school and possibly have it removed (if the school doesn’t want any recs) before the application deadline?

Since the counselor has access to Naviance, she will send them to the schools that require them. IIRC there is an icon that displays whether a recommendation is required or not for schools in Naviance. The son’s school has Naviance but his account was deactivated after he graduated, so I don’t remember how things work.

This is your first time though the process, but your counselor is an old pro. She’ll send letters only to the schools that want them.
