Letter of Recommendation

I am an international student. For 10 years, I studied in the same school ( say X) and was forced to change schools in 11th grade ( My old school taught students only till 10th grade).

In my new school, clubs are not permitted. 11th grade and 12th grade students are not allowed to participate in many events.
My 11th grade and 12th grade teachers only know about one EC of mine ( Quizzing).
Also, my 11th grade and 12th grade classes are very big, and teachers do not interact much with students.
Teachers know me very well. They know about all my ECs. I managed to start some clubs there.

My Guidance Counselor is a teacher from 11th grade, who knows me very well ( She is in charge of the extra-curricular competitions). Hence, she will be writing a stellar Counselor recommendation (hopefully) from her perception as a teacher ( of me).

So, is it better to seek both my recommendations from my 10th grade teachers? ( Chemistry and Social Science)?

( Even if I present a brief resume to my 11th grade teachers, I don't think they can elaborate further on each EC.
And if the college wants to interview one of them over the phone, they will be unable to give satisfactory replies)

Thanks for reading the long post :)

bump! please help…

This is a tough decision. Schools prefer recommendations from teachers you had more recently, but international admissions are highly competitive and it’s important to get good recommendations I think in your case I’d lean toward asking the 10th grade teachers, especially since your GC is also an 11th grade teacher.

ask the teachers you felt most connected with while taking their class

their letters will be the most genuine and most beneficial to your application
