letter of recommendation

I have question's regarding letter of recommendation
I am thinking to ask my Grade 10th teacher's for writing my recommendations. I believe they can write good recommendations than any other teacher, as they know me really well as a person and as well as academically. I wanted to ask is there any problem asking grade 10th teacher??
Secondly, I have a teacher who taught me till grade 3, she is also knows me very well. She remembers what I use to do more than I do. Can I send her recommendation as an Extra recommendation???

Hi DarkAngel, I would stick to letters from teachers who have taught you in high school only as that is what colleges are interested in. Usually you are required to only have one or two letters, so I would try to ask teachers who know you the best from academic classes, grades 9-12. Also you may want to think about what you want to study in college when asking teachers for letters. For example, if you want to study languages or the arts, ask teachers who taught you these subjects. Likewise, if you are going to study engineering, ask a math and/or science teacher. Hope this helps and good luck!
