Letter to Future Roommate

Are you guys formatting it like a letter? If not, how'd you format it?

I think most people are formatting it like a letter, since it says “write a note.”

A bit like a letter (I use “you”) but I skipped the cheesy little “Dear Future Roommate” and “Sincerely” thing.

I used you once or twice in the letter but as did physicsnut I also did not do the “letter format.”

I made the essay informal (I wrote how I would normally talk to a friend), but did not format it like a letter. It took too many words out of the 250 word limit :)

I didn’t format it as a letter in the beginning because I usually don’t for regular letters but I did use the From your roommate blah blah blah at the end…but for a good reason that I won’t specify :P

Same thing, I did not format it as a letter, but rather as a small monologue with my future roommate. Don’t forget, though, that this essay is meant to be focused on YOU. So speak about you, yet beware of sounding selfish. It is almost the only place where you can share some 'I’s for 'You’s, so don’t hesitate doing it! (That’s, IMVHO, the directives I used).

I didn’t skip it. I guess that makes mine cheesy? :p

fledgling i’m with you, no worries :)

Haha, well that was just my opinion as I didn’t see any reason to include it :)

Ah, I see. That’s definitely a valid point since these essays are all a matter of personal perspective. :)

Can we talk about what we actually wrote on the essay?

I started mine with “Hi! my name is (name) and (funny pun on name).”

And I ended with “–(Name)”

So mine was more of a note to my roommate than a letter :P
